Michael Keith is the Lead Data Scientist, supporting the analytic functions of data-driven projects and initiatives across the organization. With more than a decade of experience in public and nonprofit sectors, Michael specializes in data management, statistical analysis, research design, and building tools that help translate complex data into actionable insights. Before joining the CUNY ISLG, Michael served as a data manager at the New York City Department of Education, where he led the production of internal and external data reports and dashboards. Prior to that, he was a data analyst for the New Jersey Department of Education, conducting quantitative research on educational outcomes and school-to-workforce transitions. Michael has also collaborated and consulted on multiple national research projects focused on examining disparities in educational opportunity and outcomes. Michael previously served for over five years as an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University (NYC), where he taught courses in applied analytics and decision-making. He holds an M.S. in Applied Statistics from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Computer Science from West Chester University. A recent transplant to Washington, D.C., Michael enjoys exploring the city's museums, amazing(!) restaurants, and vibrant neighborhoods in his free time.
