Taylan Stulting (they/them) is a Senior Policy Associate who works on the Justice Training Institute to support training and technical assistance for MOCJ providers, and coordinating the Committee on Staff Wellness and Retention for the Diversion and Reentry Task Force.
Taylan is a licensed social worker and has worked for over 10 years in the anti-violence field, primarily focusing on gender-based violence against queer and trans communities. They bring experience in grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, direct services, community education, and prevention. They hold a B.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies from Bucknell University, an M.A. in Gender, Violence and Conflict from the University of Sussex, and an M.S.W. with a Certificate in Trauma Practice from Simmons University. In addition to their work at ISLG, Taylan is a PhD student in social work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where their research examines how trans communities resist and respond to violence using qualitative and participatory methodologies. Taylan is also a Health Policy Research Scholar at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
