Douglas Evans is a Senior Research Associate who conducts research on legal system issues in collaboration with local practitioners and policymakers. His role includes using data to examine how individuals move through the legal system and to identify problems within each phase to inform equitable solutions to address these issues.

Prior to joining CUNY ISLG, he worked as a project manager and senior investigator at the Research and Evaluation Center at John Jay College, where he wrote successful grant proposals, managed federal, state, and local government funded and philanthropic funded research projects, and managed a graduate research fellowship program. He received his Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He currently serves as Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Fairleigh Dickinson University and teaches in state prisons in New York and New Jersey. He enjoys playing basketball, bass, and hiking and discussing the state of the world with his toddler son and puppy.
