Kathleen Doherty is a Research Project Director at CUNY ISLG where she manages projects primarily focused on the provision of public safety, including policing and alternatives to police and other related areas. This work primarily involves data-intensive quantitative research in combination with qualitative work. In addition, she developed expertise in data and analytic capacity building, particularly regarding utilizing body-worn camera data to facilitate accountability. Through this work, she works closely with a wide range of government agencies, research organizations and community organizations, both in New York and nationally. In this role, she also engages in strategic planning and development for the Research Department. Prior to joining ISLG, Kathleen was an Assistant Professor in the Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California, a Visiting Assistant Professor at New York University, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University. Kathleen has a B.A. in Government from Wesleyan University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Virginia.
