Roohi Gupte is the Deputy Legal Counsel at ISLG, where she provides legal support for the Institute’s diverse initiatives. In this role, she collaborates with ISLG’s Executive Legal Counsel to guide strategic initiatives, negotiate key agreements, and help shape the legal and operational frameworks of the organization. Roohi’s work includes drafting and negotiating contracts with funders, partners, and grantees. She works closely with project teams to develop solicitations, scopes of work, budgets, and deliverables schedules, in partnership with community-based organizations, non-profits, and government agencies. In support of ISLG’s data-driven initiatives, Roohi negotiates data use agreements with local agencies, municipalities, and research organizations. Before joining ISLG, Roohi was a corporate associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. She began her career in Beijing at the JUMP! Foundation, a non-profit social enterprise, where she facilitated youth development programs and scaled global operations. Roohi holds a B.A. in Government from Cornell University and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. In her free time, Roohi enjoys trying new restaurants, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time outdoors with her family.
