Sana Khan is a Senior Research Associate at CUNY ISLG, where she leads research projects that support programs, strategies, and policies that improve systems and the safety and wellness of communities. Her research portfolio includes performance metrics for jail reforms, assessing community public safety, and understanding how communities are impacted by hate crimes. She collaborates with government partners and community-based organizations to translate data into policy and practice. Sana has expertise working with both quantitative and qualitative data methods; she analyzes large administrative datasets and leads participatory action research. Prior to CUNY ISLG, Sana worked at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, conducting epidemiological analyses on the prevalence of mental health of children and adolescents. Sana is currently a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) student at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She holds an MPH from Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health and a BA in Biology from Hunter College
