Alison Diéguez is a Program Director on the Policy team responsible for overseeing the Institute’s gender-based violence, trauma, and human services sector policy work. This portfolio spans several areas of work including training and technical assistance, grantee/initiative management, and participatory action research & policy making. Prior to her time at ISLG, Alison was the Director of Planning & Community Resilience at the Center for Justice Innovation’s Red Hook Community Justice Center, where she oversaw the community court’s victim service, disaster response, and housing court operations. She also served several years as a Special Assistant within the Bureau of Mental Health at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and as a Clinical Forensic Specialist at Safe Horizon. Alison is a licensed social worker with a BA in Anthropology from SUNY Purchase College, and a MSSW in Social Work from Columbia University. An avid traveler, she proudly orders coffee in any of the several languages she speaks poorly.
